How it works

How to use the Image to SVG for Cricut

  1. Add your image

Quotes, silhouettes and clip art cut best. Remove busy backgrounds first.

  2. Cutout layering

Line art for one colour, or Logo with Cutout layering for multi-colour vinyl.

  3. Upload to Design Space

Download the SVG and upload it — each colour becomes its own layer.

Why BGFixer

Built for real work, not just demos

Tuned for this job

Opens with the best preset already selected, with live preview as you adjust.

Bulk conversion

Convert a whole folder with one setting and download every SVG in a ZIP.

Cut-machine ready

Cutout layering gives non-overlapping paths for Cricut, Silhouette and lasers.

Private

Tracing runs in your browser with WebAssembly — nothing is uploaded.

Why cut files need special settings

A cutting machine follows every edge in your file. Overlapping shapes mean the blade cuts the same area twice; tiny specks become pieces you have to weed by hand. Cutout layering produces non-overlapping shapes, and Remove specks clears the debris.

Cricut-friendly checklist

  • Limit colours to the vinyl colours you'll actually use (2–4).
  • Avoid lines thinner than about 1mm at your final size.
  • Use Smooth curves for flowing cuts.
  • After upload, Ungroup in Design Space to assign materials per layer.
